Slow Cooker Cherry Almond Oatmeal

2 cups steel cut oats
4 cups nonfat milk
4 cups water
1 teaspoon almond extract
8 tablespoons almond butter, divided
¼ cup chia seeds, divided
¼ cup flax seeds, divided
¼ cup sliced almonds, divided
2 cups fresh sliced cherries, divided


  1. Spray slow cooker with cooking spray. Place all ingredients, except toppings, in slow cooker, cover and cook on low heat for about 8 hours.
  2. Spoon warm oatmeal into mason jars. Top each with 1 tablespoon of almond butter, ¼ cup sliced cherries, and 1½ teaspoons of each: chia seeds, flax seeds, and sliced almonds.
