Medicare

Active employees and covered dependents do not need to enroll in Medicare Part B. Medicare-eligible members who are not actively employed should enroll in Medicare Part B.

Medical Plans

Plan options:

Prescription coverage is included with medical plan enrollment.

Prescription Drug Plan

Members automatically receive prescription coverage with MCHCP medical plan enrollment.

Dental Plan

Comprehensive dental benefits include: diagnostic and preventive care services, basic and restorative services, and major services through a nationwide network of participating providers. There is a one-year waiting period for major services.

Employees should check with their employer to learn if dental is offered.

Vision Plan

Vision benefits include: routine exams, allowances for lenses and frames or contact lenses.

Employees should check with their employer to learn if vision is offered.

Strive Employee Life & Family (SELF)

SELF is a confidential counseling and referral service that can help the employee and their family successfully deal with life’s challenges.

Employees should check with their employer to learn if SELF is offered. SELF services are available at no cost to the member.

Appeals

MCHCP provides appeal rights as required by law.

COBRA

The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), a federal law, requires MCHCP to offer temporary coverage to members when coverage under the plan would otherwise end. Special COBRA enrollment deadlines and premiums apply.

Coordination of Benefits (COB)

Benefits payable by MCHCP medical plans are subject to coordination of benefits to prevent overlapping payments and claim delays.
