Beef and Black Bean Burgers

1 cup canned black beans, rinsed
1 pound lean ground beef
¼ cup diced red onion
1 teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
Pinch cayenne pepper


  1. Place rinsed black beans in a large bowl and mash.
  2. Add beef, onion, black pepper, salt, chili powder and cayenne pepper; mix to combine.
  3. Shape into 4 burgers and grill or pan fry until thoroughly cooked.
  4. Add desired toppings and serve.
